Balterio Laminate Flooring Installation Guide

1. General Information
Click xpress is a revolutionary new system for fitting laminate floors without the use of glue or any other major tools. The only materials you will be needing are a pencil, a measuring rod or tape measure, a whip saw or a fretsaw and a number of spacer blocks. Click xpress: easy, swift and efficient for a high quality result.

2. Preparation
Lay out the unpacked panels in the middle of the room and allow them to acclimatise for 48 hours. Ideal average room temperature is around 22C and the ideal room air humidity is around 55%. Make sure that the height between the door frames and the doors on the one hand and the sub-floor on the other hand is at least 1cm

3. Installation

Figure 1: Make sure the sub-floor is clean and perfectly level. Any bumps in excess of 2mm must be leveled out beforehand. The laminate panels must be fitted crosswise over the sub-floor

Figure 2: Position the panel to be fitted with its tongue face at an angle against the groove face of the panel already in place. If you are using a groove in tongue joint, do the exact reverse. Then bring down the new panel: as you do so, it will automatically click-lock in to the panel already in position, securely fastening itself.

Figure 3: Wood continues to be subject to shrinkage and expansion. Which is why you will need to provide an 8 to 10mm expansion joint on all sides.

Figure 4: You can start out fitting the floor either from a corner or from the middle of the room. Click xpress allows you to work from right to left. You are best advised to start out from the location of an obstacle (door opening, radiator, ). Also, bear in mind that you should start by first click-locking the short sides before moving on to click-lock a newly created ensemble of 2 panels into the panel already in position.

Figure 5: Then gently tilt up the 2 panels which have been locked along their short face and push the lengthwise face of the 2nd panel into the row already in position. Here too, the ensemble will automatically click-lock into the row already in position.

Figure 6: As of the 4th row, apply the same method of operation for the 2nd and 3rd row but position yourself on the laminate flooring which has already been fitted.

Figure 7: Make sure you provide a 10mm expansion joint. Bear this in mind as you saw the lengthwise faces of the final row of panels. Measure up the final row with a sawn-off panel section.

Figure 8: In case of 2 doors opposite of each other: position the first plank as close as possible to the door. Slightly lift the plank and slide it (or tap it) underneath the door step.

4. Finishing
As soon as you have finished putting your Click xpress laminate floor in place, the floor can be walked on with immediate effect and finishing operations can be started.

5. Refitting
Your Click xpress laminate floor can be taken out and refitted without limitation. Just lift the panels out at an angle, remove and refit them in the exact same way in the same or a different room, without any damage.
